Court fees required to file a civil claim in Thailand If the case involves property or money and the claim amount is less than 50 million baht, the filing party must pay court fees equal to 2% of the total claim amount (up to a maximum of 200,000 baht). If the amount exceeds 50 million baht, the submitting party needs to add an additional 0.1% of the claim amount. Payment must be made at the time the case is filed. An additional court fee of 1,000 baht is required.
These court fees are to cover the costs of the court. If the case is settled by agreement/compromise, the court fees will be refunded minus a minimum deduction.
The following examples are common examples for which the statute of limitations is two years:
1. Interest in arrears
2. The amount payable to repay principal in installments.
3. Arrears of wages, annuities, pensions, maintenance allowances and all other periodic payments.
